I began my business in 1984, as a junior at Glastonbury High School, when after school and on weekends I'd put a mower in the trunk of my Mustang and cut residential lawns. In my senior year, I added a snow plowing service and worked year round. Along the way, I discovered that I liked working for myself, and I enjoyed the lawn maintenance and landscape business. By the summer after high school graduation, I had a small crew and a few trucks, and we soon began to provide full residential and commercial maintenance services.

In 1988, the business grew to include residential and commercial landscaping in addition to maintenance; that year we also began doing small concrete paver walks and wall installations.

In the 90's, our team and business grew again, and we hired and promoted crew leaders to head several divisions that we had established: Lawn Maintenance; Brick; Lawn Installation; and Landscape Installation.

After 2000, we established a Mulch Blowing Division and in 2005 we began to offer hydro-seeding as part of our Lawn Installation Division. In 2006 we also began installing low voltage lighting.

As E.A. Quinn Landscape Contracting, Inc. has grown, we've been active members of and top competitors in the landscape industry. We're members of PLANET and the Connecticut Nurseryman Association. All of our division heads and myself keep up with the ever-changing landscape industry.

However, while our many divisions have branched out, successfully winning residential, commercial, and government bids and completing contracts throughout southern New England, the company's roots and my heart have remained in Glastonbury. My family lives here, and I'm a proud and active member of the Glastonbury Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce.
