A Few Notes From The Editor

Man_Shoveling_Snow.jpgWhat is up with the weather? 4.49 inches of rain in December!  That would have translated into almost 4 feet of snow. Lets not forget the whopping 14 – 15” of SNOW so near the Holidays! Hope all your holidays were fun, satisfying and relaxing.

Here at E. A. Quinn during the darkest coldest months of the year when we aren’t out plowing or shoveling etc, we are brainstorming on how to and what to do for all of our customers.

We examine what you the customer may need, as we did last year looking into a more environmentally friendly fertilizer program, which I might add has been very successful.

We will continue to do our newsletter on line this winter. Any contributions or questions you’d like answered in the newsletter just let me know. Send me your email address and I will automatically send our newsletter to you.

With the economy the way it is, it might be time to let us show you how you can enjoy more amenities surrounding your home while improving the value of you property as well.  E.A. Quinn Landscape Contracting, Inc. is a full service company.  From the ground up we can make it happen for you.

We can bring in topsoil, grade it and seed it for a lawn to love.  We can see to it that it is properly irrigated, fertilized and mowed.

We can design and install a healthy, energy efficient landscape plan to beautify your yard, whether you want large trees or little plants.  We can also do the weeding and pruning for you.  We can provide and install mulch for your beds to conserve water and make them look stunning.
Love the sound of running water?  From a small statuary fountain that recycles the water to a major water feature we can make it happen.

Oh, and we can install the most amazing walkways, patios, built in barbeques, fire pits or retaining walls or purely decorative walls you have ever seen.

A Few Notes From Our Staff

Matt Bagshaw, our Accounts Manager has provided a recap of the services we provide.

1.  Spring Clean ups – clean up the winter debris i.e.; sand, leaves, twigs, small branches and what have you on your lawns and beds.

2.  Lawn Mowing – weekly

3.  Pruning – Season and Plant specific

4.  Weeding

5.  Edging of driveways and sidewalks to give
a manicured look to your lawn.

6.  Edging your planting beds to give them a definite line

7.  Plant annuals – Pansies, Petunias, and Mums or any special requests

8.  Fall Seeding/Overseeding

9.  Fall Cleanups – generally we do two cleanups to ensure the majority of leaves are off your lawn and your planting beds.

Matt is also in charge of our Fertilization Program, which starts in the early spring and can go straight through late fall.

The Fertilization Program provides pre-emergent crabgrass control and pre-emergent broadleaf weed control, and insect control (grubs, army worms and chinch bugs).

All maintenance and fertilization contracts are self-renewing and self adjusting.  If you have any questions or concerns don’t hesitate to call.

For those of you who haven’t heard it before here’s a small bit about Matt.

Matt graduated from UCONN with a degree in Turf grass Sciences and then interned with a nationwide company.  This has always been Matt’s life ambition as illustrated in the 1988 Kindergarten Yellow Book from Eastbury School.  Matt stays current with all the current industry information available, attending seminars and workshops.

Holiday Gifts For Kids

Thank you, for your generous donations to “Holiday for Children”. The children make out their wish lists and we try to fill as many of their wishes as possible.

We hope you are enjoying the greens and poinsettias, as well as knowing you’ve helped a child enjoy the holiday season.

This season, Seven Families who between them have Thirty One Kids will have a better holiday and it was all because of you.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROUSITY
