For the fourth year in a row, E.A. Quinn will be welcoming students from the University of Connecticut School of Agriculture into its internship program.
To date, E.A. Quinn has hosted six UConn students in the program, and is expecting to host an additional two this spring and summer season. One intern will be focused on hardscape installation with E.A. Quinn’s paver and natural stone crews . The other intern will be focused on landscape plant installation .
The intern program at E.A. Quinn is managed by Matt Bagshaw, the company’s operations manager. Bagshaw is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and maintains a relationship with faculty at the UConn School of Ag. He goes back to speak with UConn Ag students twice per year to talk about what can be expected when working in the landscaping industry and how UConn’s program helped ready him.
“We are really proud of our relationship with UConn,” Bagshaw said. “We are happy to provide real world training to our interns and it’s been a useful recruiting tool for us as well.”
